River Saraswati has exercised great fascination and unfailing interest in the minds of Earth Scientists as well as Archaeologists. The 'lost' character of this mighty river extolled in superlative terms in the Rigveda, the oldest text available to mankind, attaches great importance to this problem. A number of specialists have evaluated the evidence and traced the history of events during the last 10,000 years.
