Seven Kilometer Deep Borehole Laboratory for Seismological Research

“The Hindu” of 14.06.2012 carried a write-up on the Project – Deep Scientific Drilling into the Earthquake zone of Koyna-Warna Region, Maharasthra. A deep borehole observatory (7-km deep) is to be established by the Seismologists of the NGRI (CSIR) for earthquake research. Dr. H.K. Gupta, Formerly Secretary DOD and Director, NGRI and currently member of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will be the Advisor of the Project, which is being headed by Dr. N.
